| Information | Baclofen is a derivative of gamma-amino-butyric acid (GABA) that is used as a skeletal muscle relaxant. By stimulating GABA-B receptors, Baclofen decreases both the frequency and amplitude of muscle spasms and is especially useful in treating spasticity associated with spinal cord injuries. It acts primarily by inhibiting the polysynaptic and, to a lesser extent, monosynaptic afferent pathways in the spinal cord. |
