3,4-Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MPDV), also referred to as Mtv or Super Coke, is a synthetic stimulant and designer drug that has emerged in the last two decades. MDPV began appearing in the United States as a legal alternative to illicit drugs, marketed as “bath salts” under names including Ivory Wave, Tranquility, and Cloud 9 in mid- to late-2010. It was banned in the U.S., along with a variety of other synthetic drugs that had been sold legally, in December of 2011. |
