Information

Pentazocine is a synthetic opioid prescribed for the treatment of moderate to severe pain. It can be found as a single agent or formulated with naloxone under the trade names Talwin and Talwin NX, respectively. Pentazocine presence indicates use or exposure, it is not a known metabolite of any other drug. Talwin NX includes naloxone as an abuse deterrent.
