Information
Oxazepam is a benzodiazepine drug used to treat anxiety and insomnia and to control the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal. Oxazepam is a metabolite of several commonly prescribed benzodiazepines, diazepam, nordiazepam, temazepam, and chlordiazepoxide (indirect). Presence must be evaluated alongside the presence of its precursors. If detected alone, oxazepam cannot be used to identify if oxazepam or a precursor drug was used.
